When Storms are all Around You
“Remember that I am the one that calmed the storm all those years ago. The circumstances you are facing in your life are no different today. I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. I know human nature is to worry and try to figure out and take control, but that is what I am here for. I calm the storms in your life before they even get to you. Do you know how many calamities I have caused to bypass you? The protection I have given, even when no one is aware? Do you remember that I said a sparrow would not fall from the sky apart from My knowing it? All these things I said so that you would know that I am well acquainted with your worries during your time on earth, but also to let you know in advance that there is a solution and antidote to your problems, and that answer is Me.
So many times, people go years without hardly looking up to see My goodness until things begin to go wrong, and then they begin to seek Me like never before. How I wish that people came more out of intimacy than problem-solving, but I use the storms to bring My people back to Me. Problems are simply reminders that you live in a broken and fallen world, but remember that trouble won’t last always, and this is but a blip in the line of eternity. When you view it from this vantage point, suddenly the problems seem small and lose their grandness and ability to take over your mind.
When you remember that I am the One in control, you will begin to look to Me like never before for the solutions that only I can provide. Did I not tell you, “Do not worry”? I meant that, because it was not a burden for you to carry. So today, take note of the things plaguing your mind and release your burdens to Me, knowing that I am the storm stopper. But even if I choose not to stop the storm, I will certainly cause you to walk on water with Me through it.
Fear not, for I hold you in the palm of My hands. I am forever yours, and you are Mine.”

About this devotional
Years ago I began writing prophetically the things that I felt God was speaking to my heart. It started out as love notes to friends and family, or simple text messages as I simply emptied myself and let the Holy Spirit flow through the words on the page. The Scripture / Word of God is the only true authority but we know that God will breathe upon us and anoint us to relay messages by His Spirit.
Years ago I woke up from a dream in the middle of the night. In the dream I had heard the Father speaking to me, “Write and tell My people that I love them. They need to know My heart and how much I love them.” It felt more like an assignment than a suggestion. I wanted to be obedient but never understood how it would come to pass until this season in my life. Be blessed as you allow the Lord’s love to encounter and wash over you.
